The discrepancies in Atiku Abubakar’s Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) certificate have been clarified by the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). This clarification was conveyed by one of his aides, Dele Momodu, on Tuesday through a post on Atiku’s social media platform, X.
Momodu stated that the need for clarification arose due to allegations of forgery made against Atiku Abubakar by members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Some APC members had raised concerns about the name “Sadiq Abubakar” appearing on Atiku’s WAEC certificate, which differed from his other credentials.
In response, Momodu explained that he had forwarded these accusations to the former Vice President, who provided an explanation for the discrepancy. According to Atiku, he did use the name “Sadiq Abubakar” to sit for his WAEC, and after passing the exams, he swore an affidavit to affirm that he was the same person as “ATIKU Abubakar.” He used the name “Atiku Abubakar” when attending Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) and when interviewed by the Federal Civil Service Commission. He was also hired into the Customs Service as “Atiku Abubakar.” Atiku concluded by asking, “So where is forgery there?”
Atiku’s response to these allegations was provided by Dele Momodu, who urged APC social media supporters to forward their questions to their own leader for a direct and immediate response. He expressed his admiration for Atiku Abubakar in his closing remarks, saying, “I SALUTE ALHAJI ATIKU ABUBAKAR…”
