Ahead of the 2023 CAF awards, which will be held on December 11 in Marrakech, Morocco, Super Falcons stars Asisat Oshoala and Chiamaka Nnadozie have been included among the final ten nominees for the CAF women’s Player of the Year award.
The African football governing body announced this on Monday via its X account.
CAF had already released the whole list of nominees for the prize, which included Nnadozie, Oshoala, Rasheedat Ajibade, Osinachi Ohale, Toni Payne, and Christy Ucheibe.
In 2022, Oshoala defeated Zambia’s Grace Chanda and Cameroon’s Ajara Nchout Njoya to win the CAF Women’s Player of the Year title for the fifth time.
Meanwhile, Randy Waldrum, the head coach of the Super Falcons, was named coach of the year, and Deborah Abiodun and Esther Ajakaye were named finalists for Best Young Player of the Year.
The Super Falcons were also a finalist for the title of women’s national team of the year.
