In a court session held on Monday in Yaba, Lagos State, bail was granted to the singer Azeez Fashola, widely known as Naira Marley, and Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu, who is known as Sam Larry. The bail amount was set at N20 million and mandated the presence of three responsible sureties.
Naira Marley, Sam Larry, along with two others, were brought to court and detained on October 6 due to their alleged involvement in the circumstances surrounding the death of the musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad.
Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun issued instructions for the defendants to surrender their passports and ordered them to report to the State Criminal Investigation Department situated at Panti on a weekly basis.
As part of the bail conditions, the defendants are obliged to forfeit their passports and attend weekly check-ins at the State Criminal Investigation Department.
Magistrate Olatunbosun also issued a warning that no one should make any attempts to contact her directly in relation to the case. She emphasized, “Any attempts to reach out to me directly will be documented and may potentially be disclosed during open court proceedings.”
