On Sunday, the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) expressed its confidence in the effective leadership of Governor Abba Yusuf’s administration in delivering democratic benefits to the residents of the state. Mr. Ralph Nwosu, the National Chairman of IPAC, made this commendation following an evaluation visit to Kano to assess the democratic benefits provided by the governor.
NAN (News Agency of Nigeria) reported that IPAC intends to compile reports to present to President Tinubu and the National Assembly. Nwosu added that they would also submit this comprehensive review to the Senate President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for their final approval and acceptance.
Nwosu clarified that IPAC’s primary aim is to ensure an enhancement in the quality of democratic governance, which is why they embarked on state visits. He explained that they aim to witness continuity in the governance structure when a new government takes over, to fully establish the concept of governance.
IPAC has sent approximately 30 members from various states across the country to visit and evaluate the situations in each of the states they are visiting. Nwosu stressed their commitment to upholding democratic principles and ensuring that the quality of governance is adequately addressed, a task that necessitates their direct observation.
During their visit, IPAC discovered that the actions taken by the Kano State Government align with the principles and values upheld by IPAC. Additionally, discussions with government officials revealed that the state administration achieved its goals without relying on borrowing.
Nwosu praised Kano for being fortunate to have a government that accomplished so much within just five months of its administration. He mentioned the 10-point agenda and stated that the government’s achievements have limitless potential, predicting increased support from the people in the future.
