President Bola Tinubu has given orders for the reactivation of the Presidential Delivery Tracker, with the aim of empowering Nigerians to monitor the real-time progress of projects throughout the country.
During the conclusion of the three-day Cabinet Retreat in Abuja on Friday, President Tinubu expressed his unwavering commitment to ensuring active and direct citizen involvement in governance. He stressed the importance of affording all Nigerians the opportunity to track and report on the implementation of projects nationwide.
President Tinubu has instructed his Special Adviser on Policy and Coordination, Hadiza Bala Usman, to promptly reestablish the tracking system in a manner that optimally utilizes cutting-edge digital innovations to provide real-time oversight capabilities for the benefit of all Nigerians.
He also outlined the primary areas of focus for his administration, which include economic reform to achieve sustained and inclusive growth, enhancing national security for peace and prosperity, bolstering agriculture to attain food security, harnessing energy and natural resources for sustainable development, improving infrastructure and transportation as growth catalysts, prioritizing education, healthcare, and social investment as fundamental pillars of development, accelerating diversification through industrialization, digitization, creative arts, manufacturing, and innovation, and enhancing governance for effective service delivery.
The President called upon all members of his cabinet to exert maximum effort in meeting the expectations of the Nigerian people and underscored the importance of the Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing that it aims not only for economic growth but also for creating a fair and equitable society for all Nigerians, with a focus on job creation, education, healthcare improvement, and poverty reduction.
President Tinubu urged a collective commitment to achieving tangible results, expressing a strong belief in the potential for success with the dedicated team in place.
He emphasized the significance of data in governance, stating that it is crucial for effective governance, as it allows for understanding and addressing challenges, designing and implementing effective solutions, and monitoring and evaluating progress.
The retreat’s culmination involved the signing of performance bonds by ministers and permanent secretaries, led by President Tinubu, who urged all implementing authorities to consistently demonstrate diligence, innovative thinking, commitment, and an unwavering focus on achieving results.
