The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming Bayelsa Governorship election, Chief Timipre Sylva, has been re-enlisted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The decision followed last week’s decision of the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja. An Abuja Federal High Court had initially disqualified Sylva from the election due to a lawsuit filed by Demesuoyefa Kolomo, a member of the APC in the state. As a result, INEC removed him from its list of candidates.
However, in an updated list on its website on Monday, INEC reinstated Sylva as the APC’s candidate.
