Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has described the passing of Sulaiman Baffa, Chairman of Jigawa Elders Forum and former managing director of the Nigerian Printing and Minting Company, as a great loss for both the people of the State and Nigeria as a whole.
Alhaji Sulaiman Baffa, aged 85, passed away early on Tuesday following a prolonged illness.
According to a press statement issued to DAILY POST by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Hamisu Mohammed Gumel, Namadi conveyed his condolences and paid tribute to the deceased’s extensive service to Nigeria and Jigawa State in various capacities. He acknowledged Baffa’s sacrificial and selfless dedication to serving humanity, leaving an indelible mark.
The statement also noted Baffa’s crucial role in fostering unity, understanding, and collaboration among diverse communities and stakeholders in the state. His wisdom, guidance, and unwavering efforts played a pivotal role in conflict resolution and addressing the concerns of the people. He was described as a true bridge-builder and a source of inspiration to many.
Governor Namadi extended his condolences to Baffa’s family, friends, associates, as well as the people of Jigawa State and Nigeria as a whole. He offered prayers for the eternal peace of the departed and for the family’s strength to bear the loss.
Sulaiman Baffa was laid to rest in Kano on Tuesday evening in accordance with Islamic traditions.
