Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has issued a directive for the validation and biometric registration of all local government personnel within the state.
This directive was conveyed through a statement endorsed by Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, the Secretary to the State Government, on Thursday.
Onyia specified that the committee responsible for the verification process would be inaugurated at the Government House, Enugu, on Friday, December 1, 2023.
“The verification initiative is set to commence on the same day, December 1, 2023, and will continue until the end of February 2024. The verification committee will conduct unscheduled visits to any of the 17 local governments within the state on any working day of the week.
“Employees are required to be present during the verification and biometric registration, providing their appointment letters and duty schedules. Absentees and individuals found not complying with the terms of their employment will be disengaged from government service.
“Furthermore, all local governments are directed, henceforth, to submit their attendance records for the preceding week to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government every Wednesday via the email address: ssg@enugustate.gov.ng,” Onyia stated.
