The Federal Government, under the Ministry of Budget and National Planning, has initiated a mid-term review of the National Development Plan 2021-2025 to align it with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Abubakar Bagudu, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, made this announcement during his speech at the World Press Conference held for the 29th National Economic Summit in Abuja on Thursday.
Bagudu explained that the Renewed Hope Agenda and the eight Priority Areas of the current Administration are aimed at accelerating the objectives of Nigeria Agenda 2050 and the National Development Plan 2021-2025, with a focus on achieving double-digit economic growth and inclusive development.
He stated, “The Ministry is currently in the process of conducting a mid-term review of the NDP 2021-2025 with the goal of refining the Plan and incorporating the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current Government into the NDP 2021-2025. We welcome innovative ideas from stakeholders at the Summit to ensure effective integration into the NDP 2021-2025.”
Bagudu emphasized that sustainable economic transformation and inclusion in Nigeria can be achieved through the implementation of innovative policies, the establishment of robust and functional institutions, strategic investments in infrastructure, the enhancement of human capital through training, the promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation, and the utilization of digital technology.
