The June/July 2023 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results have been released by the National Examination Council (NECO), revealing that 61.60% of students achieved five credits and above in English Language and Mathematics.
The announcement was made by Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NECO, during a press briefing at the NECO headquarters in Minna, Niger State.
Prof. Wushishi shared that a total of 1,205,888 students registered for the examination, and out of this number, 1,196,985 actually took the exams. This figure comprised 616,398 males and 580,587 females.
In comparison to the 2022 SSCE results, which showed a 60.74% pass rate, the 2023 SSCE results displayed a slight decrease of 0.86% in the number of candidates who scored five credits and above in both English Language and Mathematics.
