Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the Governor of Edo State, attributes the prevailing socioeconomic difficulties affecting the nation to the poor leadership decisions made by the country’s leaders.
In a conversation with journalists in Benin City, the capital of Edo State, Obaseki, drawing from his background as an investment banker, expressed that he had foreseen the hardships currently being experienced by Nigerians as a result of unfavorable economic decisions made by the nation’s leaders. He had raised concerns about the necessity for corrective actions, but regrettably, his warnings were ignored.
In his capacity as governor, Obaseki recognizes the harsh and challenging circumstances that Nigerians are enduring and encourages them to maintain their resilience and not lose hope.
The governor stated, ‘I, as a governor, am aware that we are all facing hardship in the country. I have an understanding of how the economy functions and foresaw this situation well in advance.’
