Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has issued an immediate directive to freeze all state and local government accounts.
The Commissioner for Finance, Asiwaju Asiru Idris, relayed this instruction on Thursday in Lokoja, the state capital, through an official statement.
According to the statement, “No disbursements or payments of any kind are to be made from Government Accounts from this moment onward. Standing Orders and Investment Instructions are hereby revoked.
All Kogi State and Local Government Accounts will be frozen effective today, Thursday, November 22nd, 2003.”
