Appeal Court affirms election of Ibori’s daughter

The Court of Appeal, which convened in Lagos, has upheld the victory of Honourable Ibori-Suenu Erhiatake, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Delta State.

Representative Erhiatake, who ran under the PDP banner for the Ethiope Federal Constituency, secured her win over Ben Rolands Igbakpa and Mr. Halims Ahoda from the NNPP and APC parties.

The judgment was delivered by Hon. Justice Festus Ogbuinaya, Justice Senchi, and Justice Waziri on Tuesday in Lagos.

Ibori-Suenu is the daughter of the former governor of Delta State and the National Leader of the PDP in the state, Chief James Onanefe Ibori.

The Court of Appeal deemed the appeal of the PDP candidate to be well-founded, overturning the decision of the lower court.

In a press statement released on Tuesday, Representative Erhiatake hailed the Court of Appeal’s ruling as a triumph for both her constituents and divine intervention. She expressed her appreciation for the Court of Appeal’s decision, emphasizing the enduring strength of democracy.
